Old Bottles or Potion Look Alikes

This is where it is suggested that you go thrifting. All around the world and little thrift stores talked away and corners there are bottles and vases that look just like potion bottles. Even if they don’t already look like something witchy and mysterious, it is incredibly easy to finish them off and make them look this way yourself. You can add liquids that look like potions, dark aesthetic, flowers, or even for a events dry ice, creating some fog emanating from the top.

You can find a ton of mysterious items that will match with your aesthetic here:

Crystals

The addition of crystals and geodes are an amazing opportunity to add a little bit of color and support to the rest of your Gothic aesthetic set up. There are so many of these crystals that you can find, and a ton of different reasons that they bring great uses to the table for you. Ranging from small to incredibly large, these crystals can be a centerpiece, easily, or a tiny accent accentuating the rest of the art and oddities that you have chosen. This is a perfect way to make an addition of outside earth properties to your inside home. They are sure to add a sensation of being grounded to mother earth, even if you are stuck indoors.

Skulls

If you want to really stand out with your Gothic decor in your home, the addition of skulls, both of the human and animal variety, are a staple and a must have for your design. If you go to the CHELSIDERMY shop, you can find many animal skulls there if you so choose to add this into your décor. If you happen to be one of the more macabre individuals out there, you can find human skulls and make them an addition into your overall aesthetic. Be warned, these pieces are usually incredibly expensive. There’s a great deal of things that you can do to these calls more than simply having them involved on their own. You can take a more artistic approach and add moss and vines on the outside of the skulls and/or paint them in ways that fit your Overall aesthetic in a better way.

Wall Art

This is where you can put most of your personality into and get really specific. Wall art is a must have for any type of decor that is not minimalistic. With this specific aspect of your aesthetic, you may choose to stay on the lighter side of things with the addition of fall nature pictures, or you can get darker with it, and include pictures of horror movies and macabre scenarios.

Also, in this section, taxidermy fits perfectly. Hanging on the wall, a large moose head from a once living animal looking across your beautiful home. If this isn’t nature oriented and witchy feeling, then what else is? you could even take it one step further, and dress up the piece of taxidermy in the same fashion that we talked about the skulls in. You can either DIY this, and do it yourself or find a great oddity shop that does things such as this for you. While we do this on Chelsidermy, there are other amazing places that you can find pieces such as this as well. One such place to find pieces like this to add onto your walls and give it more of a Gothic decor feeling is this Oddities Store

Candles

Not only a great way to burn down your home, but also a fantastic addition to your overall Gothic aesthetic. Candles fit perfectly within this category and make the perfect addition to gothic decor and witchy appearances. There are tons of different types of candles that you can get ranging from short fat ones to tall skinny ones. Not only this, but there are tons of different types of candleholders that you can find. some of these are old antique pieces that I’ve been around for hundreds of years and have plenty of history, while some of these are newer and done in such a fashion that is meant to specifically match your Gothic decor appearance. Whatever candles you end up deciding on, they will certainly make an amazing impact on the overall look of your home.

Paint Things Black

Simply put, painting, things black can easily add to the aesthetic. Maybe you don’t want to go overboard on this one and have an entirely blacked out room. If you do choose to paint some things black though, it can really add to the overall feel of your decor. In example, if you paint a shelf, black, or even all of your shelves, this will give a darker feel to the objects placed on top of them sitting adjacent to your wall. Maybe you choose to use some older wood and paint it Black and then put some older witchy books on top of the shelf. Another way that you can use this black paint is if you have paintings and artwork hanging up with normal frames. These average, every day frames can be turned into Gothic decor, masterpieces simply with the addition of black paint around the outside.

Moss

Remember when we were talking about the cauldrons and skulls earlier in this article? Well, we added some moss to them. Adding moss to things around the room, ever so slightly, will make a fantastic addition to the aesthetic in a delicate manner. It almost seems to sneak its way into the aesthetic within Gothic decor. When you stop to think about the addition of the moss and vines, however, you see how much it really adds to the overall look of the home.

Recap

Whatever, oddities, art, or other things you choose to add into your home; make sure you put your own specific and unique personality into it.
