The Normal Horror Movies a.k.a. Pop-Culture Horror Movies

There are the scary movies that most people know, and are aware of. These movies include films, such as the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and the Nightmare on Elm Street. Movies, such as this, while they are graphic, are not as intense or real, as some of the others later in this article. It is absolutely intense and horrific to think about the fact that movies such as saw are in this portion at the beginning of the discussion on horror, movies. These movies are gruesome and depict great amounts of physical violence and disfigurement, as well as haunting scenarios. The thought that movies such as these are placed within such a beginner level of horror is purely mind-boggling. While these movies are horrific in their own right, there is not a lot of merit to go over them in detail within this article here. Due to the fact that they are already so prevalent in pop culture and well known, it is more likely that you already know of these specific movies in this section. That being said, there are still some incredibly scary and great movies with in this category. The Human Centipede and Tusk being two of the more uniquely horrifying experiences within the pop culture topic of horror movies. The Hills Have Eyes also finds itself within this portion of scary movies to disturb viewers.

 Slightly Next Level Horror Movies

The next section of horror movies gets a tad bit more serious than the pop-culture versions of the genre. This includes movies such as Pink Flamingos, Cannibal Holocaust, Suicide Club, The House that Jack Built and more. In the movie, pink flamingo, there is a scene in which a drag queen eats dog feces. There are also many references to cannibalism. In the movie Cannibal Holocaust, there are intense human interactions that take place, but the most real happenings in this film are actual animal deaths. These take place on film and are made as an addition into the actual horror movie itself. Cannibal Holocaust was one of the very first found film movies that was a pioneer of the genre. Most people at the time actually thought that this movie was real, and the Director was arrested until he proved that the actors were still alive. Tetsuo: The Iron Man is a body horror film in which the main character slowly gets covered by metal pieces over time. Later in the movie he starts to infect someone else with this mysterious body dysmorphia.

Serious Horror Movies

This section of horror movies is where things get serious. These films are mostly just mock snuff films, and it gets increasingly more messed up from there. Some of the movies that fit this category are Slaughter Vomit Dolls, Snuff 102, August Underground, and Viva La Muerta.

August Underground is considered by many people to be a real snuff film and the scariest movie ever made. It is NOT a real snuff film, and it is a fictional piece of film. A good deal of individuals have actually called authorities about this movie to report it.

Viva La Muerta is a horror film in which the characters in the movie actually cut open the stomach of a bull and climb inside of it just like from Star Wars. Instead of in Star Wars, however, this was really done.

Nekromantik is an incredibly gross movie that follows two individuals that have mental health issues and start to collect body parts. After they start to collect these parts, they find a fully intact human body that they bring home and… do stuff with…

Juvenile Crime is a true story about a young kid that was kidnapped by a group of high school students. They locked the kid up in a basement for a month and a half and did unbelievable and unspeakable things. The thing that makes this movie so incredibly disturbing is the fact that it was based on real world events.

More Than Serious Horror Movies

Tumbling Doll of Flesh is a movie in which a woman is hired to do adult films and is made to perform acts that are increasingly horrible until she refused. Once she refuses both her and her boyfriend are murdered. While this film was done in a way that makes it look as if it may be real, it is not real and is fiction like the rest of the movies in this section of the article.

Shockumentaries A.K.A. Mondo Films

This category was started with a movie called Mondo Cane but was made more famous by the film titled Faces of Death. In Faces of Death there are videos of illegal dog fighting scenes, public exicutions, and animal deaths. The difference between this film and the other aforementioned pieces of cinema in this article is the fact that about half of this movie was actually real footage.

There are a lot of real film documentaries in this category such as Africa Addio and Burried in the Sand. These movies are mostly politically driven propaganda films meant to instill fear in those that view them as to drive home their point.

Black Metal Viens is a horror movie about several individuals that are addicted to heroin. It follows the individuals on their chosen paths in life and witnesses overdoeses and bad drug deals that result in deaths. This is real footage of actual events in the real world, and that is why it makes its way up to the higher sections of this list.

Almost the Worst of the Worst

KT Trilogy is in this section of the list, and we won’t go into it here. We will, instead visit it in a different post at a later time…

At a certain point down the list in this article, all of the movie types really sort of blend together. They pretty much escape the traditional meaning of a “movie” and are more just compilations of horrible clips of real-world events. Yes, this makes it scarier than the fictional horror movies, but they seem to be just mostly done for shock factor a lot of the time at this point.

The Worst of the Worst Horror Films

Most Disturbed Person on Planet Earth, also known as MDPOPE, is essentially just a film with a compilation of shock films from real world events. There is no plot or point to the movie other than providing real videos of shocking and disturbing events. It is not currently available on the regular internet, and you would need to use an anonymous browser to access the dark web to find it… which I do NOT recommend.

All of these in the last two categories are illegal, and I do not recommend you going to look for these incredibly messed up horror films. Not only for ethical reasons.

Recap

The last two sections in this article are not something you should go looking for. This article is only for informational purposes so knowledge of what is out there can be passed on. In no way do I believe in the real-world event films that are films of actual happenings in a non-fiction setting. The only films that we can recommend in good conscience are the fictional films, and those are the ones that we are going to stick to for ourselves as well.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this article! : )
