Sneaky Sasquatch: Is Sasquatch Real and Hiding?
Sneaky Sasquatch? The People Decide!
In this article we are going to look at some original research including over 2,000 people to see what the average person thinks about whether sasquatch is real or not. Is sasquatch real? Is bigfoot not a real animal that exists? Maybe sasquatch is real, but it is something else all together and it is a case of mistaken identity. Let’s go over some of the history of this potentially sneaky sasquatch and then look at the data to see what the average person believes and thinks.
Sasquatch is also known to mini by the name Bigfoot. The idea of Sasquatch has been around for more than 1000 years with recordings of Sasquatch sightings dating back to cave drawings. While there have been, some videos, considered to be taken by Sasquatch, and supposed physical evidence in the form of footprint casts for the most part, there is a lack in scientific evidence. in this article, we are going to visit the sneaky Sasquatch, and see if the beast is real and hiding or if maybe it is simply a phenomenon of mistaken identity.
Crypto zoology has been around for many years and a prominent figure within this genre of information is Bigfoot a.k.a. Sasquatch. In order to better find out what the general public and specific crypto zoology community has to say about the existence of Sasquatch we took a questionnaire from several hundreds of people in order to find out what percentage thought Bigfoot was real or could not subscribe to the idea their self.
History of the Sasquatch:
The Sasquatch has been named Bigfoot due to a logging company in California having many odd occurrences around the property. During the time of these are occurrences, there were foot prints found that were more than 16 inches long These large foot prints coupled with the instances of odd happenings around the property, lead the loggers to coined the term “Bigfoot“ in order to communicate these happenings to each other about the specific supposed creature.
From the mid-1900s to the year 2000 alone, there were more than one and a half thousand supposed sightings of Bigfoot. This is just in America as Sasquatch was most prevalent LeAnn known to be cited in the California region. Being that the stories of Sasquatch reach back for more than 1000 years it is difficult to say how many sightings there have been since the inception of the idea of this beast. Creatures that fit the description of Sasquatch are told in folktales from around the world. One such example is the yeti.
Original Research:
Out of over 2,000 people in this questionnaire there was a great deal of extra conversation and debate that often got heated at times. It is incredibly interesting, not only to see where the numbers lay at the end of the data collection process, but also to see the particular reasonings and debate processes carried out as well.
As far as we now there don’t seem to be a data set collected of this size on the specific question of whether or not sasquatch is real. While this would not prove or disprove the existence of the being, it absolutely adds to the lore and furthering of interest for future possible researchers in the field. Maybe one day, someone will find bigfoot, and it will have been research similar to this that sparked their interest on the subject.
YES:
52.7% say yes.
This is so intriguing to say the least. More than half of the people asked in this questionnaire said that they firmly believe that sasquatch is a real animal out there somewhere lurking around in the vast forests. Statistically, this means, if you look to the person on your left and then to the person on your right; one of those people think sasquatch is definitely real. While this obviously does not prove that sasquatch is real in any way, it is super interesting to see just how many people in our modern day and age fully believe in this cryptid creatures’ existence without thinking it may be something else instead.
NO:
22.4% say no.
The percentage of answers that were received for the definitive no answer is shockingly low. In fact, this is the lowest number within the data set, and accounts for less than 1 out of every 4 people that answered. This means that not even 25% of the 2,000+ people involved in this research believed that there is even a chance that big foot is real in any way. To think that you have much better odds flipping a coin than you do finding someone around you at random that does not believe in bigfoot. There are such interesting ideas to go over in this research, but this may very well be the most interesting statistic of them all from the data set.
Mistaken Identity:
24.9% say yes but it is something else.
This answer is far more nuanced than a simple, cut and dry, yes or no. In this answer choice the participants had the availability to choose if they thought bigfoot was real in one way or another but is being mistaken for one or more things along the course of time. Many individuals had further comments to say such as “They are just apes.” Or “They are interdimensional beings.”. Yes, that last one was actually said by a responder to this category.
The Debates:
It was made abundantly clear that, whether you believe or don’t believe in sasquatch, you are emotionally attached to your own opinion to some extent. There was name calling and around 300 people speaking extra on the topic, more than simply answering the questionnaire. Observing the data is one thing but witnessing the amount of time and effort put in by some of these individuals to argue their side of the debate is an entirely different thing all together.
The “Yes” Debates:
Most of the debates that were tied to a yes answer was fully fueled by emotion and opinion. This is not to say that there weren’t many arguments based off of the same in either of the other categories, but the majority in the yes category seems to fit well within these limits.
There were some attempts at debating a definite yes answer to this question with logic and reason. However, it proved to be a difficult task for each person going this route as there is simply not enough solid information to go off of when stating a claim in this way. Nearly all of the answers within this category are fully based off of conjecture and speculation.
Some of the actual comments from the debate include:
“I think they can just manipulate their physical being and surrounding area.”
“I believe they exist because I have faith in the honesty of people seeing them”
Someone went as far as to say “They could’ve learned to bury their sh*t.”
The “No” Debates:
In the no answer category, the majority of people fitting this section seemed to pride themselves on their scientific mindedness and prowess above all else. Extremely lengthy retorts were made including many citations for further information and condescending tones towards anyone that did not believe what they had to say.
Some of the actual comments from the debate include:
“The best DNA study was the Oxford-Lausanne study by Professor Bryan Sykes. See: https://royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/rspb.2014.0161 All the ‘bigfoot’ samples submitted turned out to be ordinary animals.”
In response to the burying of feces someone said, “Its feces would eventually get into the water or into the soil and would be found by those people monitoring black bear populations… eDNA gains everything.”
The “Mistaken Identity” Debates:
This is really where the debate gets the most interesting. Some of the other information we have seen up until this area you may have already heard time and time again. This, however, gives us new insights to the minds of some of the individuals that fit this category of answer. Some of the answers are based on logic, some on emotion, and some on speculation. This is a mixed category
Some of the actual comments from the debate include:
“It’s an interdimensional creature.”
“Natives are terrified of bigfoot. They would not have pelts of this thing… They could be inter-dimensional/extra-dimensional, or hallucinations caused by infrasonic frequencies.”
Observation and Research Review:
Observing the data and the ensuing debate among the involved members of the questionnaire, we can see that this topic is touchy for a lot of people around the world. There seems to be no proven scientific evidence to be found that sasquatch is real. Not only this, but there is actually evidence suggesting the opposite. However, the reality is that we simply do not know for sure if this creature is real or not but is mistaken for a sasquatch from some other being. Some people seem to subscribe to the idea that bigfoot is actually an interdimensional being and/or has the ability to alter our perceptions of it. If this were true, we would be on the right track with believing that it is real, but wrong in assuming that we know what it truly is. On the other hand, it could be a simpler case of mistaken identity. It could very well be that the usual sighting is of a known animal such as a black bear on its back legs.
There is no easy answer to this question as of now, but we can form assumptions and hold debates over the topic as a sort of fun thought provoking activity. With topics such as this, it is certainly important to keep an open mind as much as possible. Having a scientific approach is necessary, yes, but also being able to look for new and unusual ways to solve a problem is needed for such an issue as well.
Recap & Summary:
There is no way to say whether the sasquatch is real or not at this point in time. That is, with scientific proof. However, it may be far more nuanced than that in reality anyways. It has been brought up within the debate that sasquatch may be an interdimensional being, or something that we can’t yet fully understand the concept of. This would make sense as to why we have no physical evidence or scientific proof of it.
When we take everything into consideration, sasquatch is most likely not real in the sense that we think of it in currently. The general populace, however, would argue that point on average. More people are convinced that sasquatch exists and is just sneaking around hiding from us successfully in the forests of the world. More people believe that, according to the data collected in this research, than people believe it doesn’t exist. In fact, the least out of every option was the definitive answer no.
This was incredibly interesting to find out all of this new information and sift through the debate to find out what people thought in a more detailed manner. We will definitely be doing stuff like this more often in this blog and look forward to learning what people think about many different weird and strange topics.
