The Mysterious Flesh Pit Room
There is a house in Louisiana, that we will keep the location anonymous for legal reasons, that looks normal from the outside. This is most likely why it was off of everyone’s radar for so many years, and why it was never found to have anything mysterious or creepy lurking inside of it. It is a two-story house with white siding and brick on the face of the house. There is one large thick tree in the front yard and it is butted up to the woods on the back side of the house. Almost so close that it doesn't even truly have a backyard at all. While there are plenty of windows all around the house, they are all covered by thick opaque curtains at all times. The house was owned by a doctor and a well-known one at that. In the small town where this house is located, the doctor had plenty of face time with the other citizens in the surrounding area. Everyone in the small town considered the doctor to be incredibly intelligent and “nice enough”. He mostly kept to himself and did what needed to be done. He seemed to be a very morally driven man and made no efforts at hiding this from those around the area.
After many years of the house being occupied by the doctor, something strange began to get noticed by the town’s folk. The doctor wasn’t out and about any more like he usually was. Noone saw him getting food from the local grocery store, or at any restaurants, or even at work anymore. This started to worry the citizens after a good bit of time. They thought that maybe he just went on a well-deserved vacation after so many years of putting his nose to the grindstone and working so hard all the time. After a week or two passed, however, they started to think that maybe there was something else going on here. There was an official report filled with the police station, and the cops started to look into it. They went out to perform a wellness check on the doctor and noone answered the door. Worry started to set in for the people most inquisitive about the whole situation, so they pressured the police. Eventually officers forced entry into the house.
Once the officers breached the doorway and entered the house, they were met with a horrible and indescribable smell. This, of course, worried them that the citizens may have been on to something and that the doctor may have passed away inside of his home. The actuality of the situation was far more upsetting than that, however. The police officers made their way through the house room by room looking for any signs of the doctor. Every room of the house looked clean and well-kept. Pristine condition, just as you may suspect of the man that they were on the search for. One of the many rooms in the house was on the first floor and at the back of the house. It was at the end of a long hallway and the door was locked. None of the other interior doors in the house were locked, so this set it apart from the other areas in the home immediately. The officers, in their thorough search for the doctor, forced entry into this room the same way that they had to the front door. When they entered the door to the room they saw something that didn’t make sense and was fully unexpected.
There is simply no chance that the police officers, or anyone for that matter, would have been expecting to see what they saw when they entered the room. Entering the doorway, there were only a few feet of floor in the room that you could stand on. Just past the end of this few feet of the floor was a pit about 20 feet deep and went the length and width of the entire room other than the first few feet of floor. The size and makeup were the least odd part about the pit and the room though. The real obstacle for a normal brain to conquer was what was inside the pit itself. What lay inside the massive pit was hard to describe and impossible to bare at first sight for more than a brief moment. Once the officers collected their selves, they did take a bit of a closer look at what exactly it was that they were witnessing in this otherwise seemingly normal house. At least the police officers knew where the doctor was…
Laying inside this pit was the doctor himself. Clearly deceased and has been deceased for at least many days, the doctor was wearing nice clothes under what looked to be fishing waders. His body was bloated and stiff from rigor mortis, and his skin was discolored and pale. Not only this but his face was badly burned it seemed and he was nearly unrecognizable at first glance as a result. He was wearing rubber gloves, and the partial remains of a mask were able to be seen next to his head. His clothes had large holes in them as well. Next to the doctor, there was a large 55-gallon drum with no lid. Putting all of these clues together, the inference was made that there must have been some sort of chemical inside of that drum that spilled out onto the doctor and burned him and his clothes in the process. This may have been what killed him, but this is certainly not where the story ends. The worst thing in that pit inside of that room was not the sight of the doctor and his disfigured and burned body. The worst thing in that pit was what the doctor was laying on.
The doctor was laying on top of what could be described only as a floor made of flesh and meat. This, surely, is where the horrible smell had come from once the police officers had entered the house. It could have been that the flesh and meat were derived from animals in some way. This is what the officers had hoped. Although, there was now fur, and it was clear that this was far more sinister than the doctor being a demon to animals alone. The reality of the matter was that the doctor had, over a long period of time, killed many people and dumped their bodies into this pit in his house. Before dumping the remains into this pit, he dismembered their bodies and put them inside 55-gallon drums filled with acid. Once they were softened up enough and dissolved enough for his liking, he poured the rest of what was left into the pit each time. Over time, this flesh and meat that didn’t fully get dissolved in the acid yet had piled up on the floor of the pit. The doctor had apparently been dumping another body into the flesh pit room when he fell, for whatever reason, into the pit himself. On the way down, and most likely after landing, he was flooded with the very acid he dissolved all of those peoples’ bodies with. Call it poetic justice, but the doctor was killed by the very object that he used to help hide the evidence of his grisly murders. Not only this, but his place of perishing was the exact same place where he put all of the bodies of each one of his victims over those many years.
So what happened here and how many bodies were found to have been put into the pit?
It was difficult for the police and forensics team to find out exactly how many individuals were to be accounted for as victims of the doctor. Actually, it was impossible for them to come up with a definitive figure by the end of it all. There were about 24 people confirmed inside of the pit, but around 30 or so were thought to have also been in the pit but not fully identified. With the acid doing its job in dissolving most of the bodies, the police were lucky to have enough remains to make any conclusions on who was in the pit at all. The only reason they were able to say who was inside of the flesh pit at all was due to the doctor not allowing enough time for the acid to do its job more than it had already, and the type of acid that he used wasn’t as strong as other acids that he could have used if he was able to find them.
Good ridden to this mass killer and the digger of the flesh pit room in Louisiana. Some of the victims were estranged and backpacking through the country, but some were normal people with jobs and families. They had no correlation to the doctor, and he chose his victims at random as to have less of a tie to them so he could be less likely to get caught by the police. The part that stands out the most is that this doctor that swore to protect was killing and building a massive flesh pit room inside of his house, and no one had a clue. This house creepy for sure…
