What is SCP-2000? SCP Foundation Anomaly Explained

Everything you could ever want to know about SCP 2000 is right here in this article. From the world saving capabilities to the mysterious back story, this is a detailed write up on the anomaly known as Deus Ex Machina.

Answer:

What is SCP 2000?

SCP 2000 is a location found under the Yellowstone National Park. It is used to recreate all human life and infrastructure on Earth in the event of an apocalypse. It has been proven to be used at least twice and is one of the most guarded secrets in the SCP foundation.

Now, let’s find out exactly what SCP-2000 is and what it is used for!

What is SCP-2000?

This SCP foundation anomaly is a Thaumiel class anomaly. This classification is for anomalies that are used to contain other anomalies inside of the SCP foundation. Those placed into this category are of the highest restriction for information on them, and they are known by very few within the foundation itself. This object class is host to some of the most mysterious and powerful anomalies in the world.

Yellowstone National Park was once known as the anomaly SCP-1422, and kept itself unknown to the foundation until the year 2007.

SCP 2000, also called the Deus Ex Machina, is an enormous and enigmatic area under Yellowstone National Park. The area that includes technology and more, known as SCP 2000, is able to be entered through an old abandoned park ranger shack. Once entered, the path way leads many miles under ground until you find the opening into the area that houses the technologies.

This space is used, specifically, in order to bring the world back to normal after a world ending event has taken place. In the event that any world ending, or population ending, event has occurred; this area below the National Park is used to restore the population and world to what it once was.

The workers in this location are not ever able to leave, and if they do leave or get assigned to a different location inside of the SCP foundation, their memories are erased in order to keep the location and anomaly secret.

The energy supply for this areas technology is a liquid fluoride thorium reactor, and uses geothermal activity from underground volcanic systems. There are an incredible number of large machines, equipment, files, computers, and more housed within this anomalies area.

An apocalyptic event is also known as a K class event by the SCP foundation. CYA-009 is a system in which a member of the foundation can authorize in order to monitor the happenings of the K class event. During this period the Ganymede Protocol is also started in which members of the foundation collect and protect resources that can be used to rebuild the world as we know it.

If an XK class apocalyptic event occurs in which there are not enough SCP foundation members available to complete this process, SCP 2000 will pull back a portion of its defensive systems and hiding mechanisms in order to attract the attention of any members still living. Once a human member of the SCP foundation finds the location, they can continue the processing order to restore the Earth.

If there are not enough humans left on Earth, or it has been too long since one has found the anomaly in order to enact the rest of the process, SCP 2000 will pull back its defenses even further in order to better ensure that the process is started. At this point, even an insect could set the rest of the process into motion.

Lazarus-01 is set into action at this point in the process, and 500,000 bright/zartion hominid replicators begging the cloning procedure. These BZHR’s are able to clone any human that has existed over the last 20 years. This includes the memories and age of each and every person on Earth.

After around one week, the machines are able to clone up to 100,000 people per day. The first to be cloned are world leaders and SCP foundation leaders and members. The rest of the world’s population is close to follow after them.

Once there are enough humans cloned, they will work together to rebuild the world using all of the information, technology, and machinery kept inside of SCP 2000.

How Many Times has SCP-2000 Been Used?

There are 2 proven cases of SCP 2000 being used in history. The innate nature of the anomaly, however, makes it incredibly difficult to tell if these 2 times are the only times that it has ever been used or if there have been more. At least we know that it has been successful in its mission of helping humanity in its attempt to be fully recovered from the apocalyptic event.

One such case is dated back to around 500 years ago. This is due to the discovery of a researcher’s skeleton inside of SCP 2000 with a note attached to it. The researcher was currently alive, meaning that he had been cloned and was once alive around 500 years ago.

Who Made SCP-2000?

No one knows for certain who made SCP 2000 initially or even how long it has been worked on and built. It is, however, known who continues to make it to this day and work on making additions to the data and upkeeping the machines. Specific members of the foundation work nonstop to make sure that this area is kept up to date and in top shape in order to ensure our civilization has the best chance of survival possible.

The Mariana’s Trench Document:

This letter was found at the bottom of the Marianas trench and documented specific events from a time before the present in which the world, and human population of the Earth, was ended due to many different anomalous events. The document was written by a woman that was alive during the event that had survived long enough to meet a foundation member and be told of the coming reset by SCP 2000.

She wrote the letter and sealed it away as good as she could in order for it to be found one day and she would not be forgotten. It was kept inside of a plastic container and sealed with wax which made it water sealed.

Can Guys or Girls Not in the SCP Foundation Get in?

No one will even get close to entering this area as it is, currently, impossible even for reality warping anomalies to enter the facility. Even if you did manage to get close and find out anything about the location as evidence, you would be quickly captured and have your memory erased.

Fandom:

The is an SCP animation on this topic in order to better understand the information if you are a visual learner, or you just want to enjoy the animation style as a fun fandom experience.

There are many pieces of clothing that have the SCP foundation pattern and logo on them that you can wear for yourself. HERE is where you can find them.

Recap & Summary:

So, now you know all about SCP 2000 and what it is used for. Who would have guessed that there is an area under the Yellowstone National Park that has been use 2 or more times to remake the entire world after it has already been destroyed? It’s not a contest, but this is most likely one of the most important anomalies in the entire SCP foundation.
